Babylon Black: Week 4 Update!

Babylon Black in the final stretch! With just 3 days to go, the campaign is going down to the wire. There’s just 3 more days before the campaign-exclusive perks go away permanently.

As of time of writing, there’s still $308 left to go to hit the campaign goal. Regardless of how the campaign finally plays out, the book will proceed as planned.

One of the lessons I’ve learned in my previous crowdfunding campaigns is to always set aside some extra money. There will always be surprise costs and delays, even after the wheels are set in motion. Shipping fees, currency conversion costs, partner proceeds, the list goes on.

Babylon Black is no different. After calculating the costs of producing and shipping the book, I tacked on an extra percentage as a buffer.

As it stands, we’ve raised enough money to cover the bare minimum of costs. This means cover art and formatting. I think there should be enough to cover shipping of paperbacks as well. It’s not the best place to be in. It is, however, better than not covering any costs at all.

Babylon Black will proceed as planned. The book will be published. The flexible funding option ensures that funds raised will be delivered, and those funds will be put to their intended purpose. There is no risk to backing the campaign even at this time. The cover art is already complete; once the book is formatted, it will be ready to be shipped out to backers. This should take place by the end of the month.

What will run out are the campaign-exclusive perks. I’ve secured agreements with 365 Infantry and Tuscany Bay Books to launch special promotions during the Babylon Black campaign period. 365 Infantry is offering half off their regular annual subscription fee for their cross-media cyberpunk post-apocalyptic universe. Tuscany Bay Books is offering three books in a single bundle: White Ops, Saint Tommy, and When the Gods Fell.

Together, we are presenting the best in indie dark SFF—but for a very limited time only. Babylon Black is a tale of asymmetric warfare against false gods and monsters in a doomed city. Tuscany Bay brings you three adventures in Christian space opera and action horror. 365 Infantry brings you post-apocalyptic pulp for the new age. After the campaign period, these offers will expire. You’ll have to buy the Tuscany Bay books separately, you’ll need to purchase 365 Infantry at the regular subscription price, and you’ll have to wait for Babylon Black to hit the market after backers receive their copies.

Babylon Black is in the final stretch. Back the campaign and get your copy now.
