The Minister of Health has determined that a statement I made in this post, dated 20 October, is false. The Prevention of Online Falsehood and Manipulation Act Office has required me to post corrections on that post and on social media.
Having seen the government’s official position, I acknowledge that I have shared what the government has declared false information, to wit, a statement that the Covid vaccines are the most dangerous vaccines ever developed in recent memory, as reported adverse events and deaths from the Covid vaccine in one year is an order of magnitude higher than all vaccines combined in the past 10 years. To reinforce that point, I used a chart first seen here, which included a screenshot of a presentation concerning vaccine safety, drawn from VAERS.
The Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System is co-managed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the US Food and Drug Administration. To quote from the website:
VAERS accepts and analyzes reports of adverse events (possible side effects) after a person has received a vaccination. Anyone can report an adverse event to VAERS. Healthcare professionals are required to report certain adverse events and vaccine manufacturers are required to report all adverse events that come to their attention.
VAERS is a passive reporting system, meaning it relies on individuals to send in reports of their experiences to CDC and FDA. VAERS is not designed to determine if a vaccine caused a health problem, but is especially useful for detecting unusual or unexpected patterns of adverse event reporting that might indicate a possible safety problem with a vaccine. This way, VAERS can provide CDC and FDA with valuable information that additional work and evaluation is necessary to further assess a possible safety concern.
The chart was originally compiled on 3 September 2021, meaning that as of time of writing, it is now 2 months out of date.
Furthermore, it is well known in US medical circles that VAERS suffers from significant underreporting. The best case estimate I have seen is a factor of 5, the middle ground is 10, the higher end is 20, and the most sensational number is 100.
This is the Ministry of Health’s official position on the use of VAERS data, as reported by Mothership:
The ministry stated that “it is misleading to compare the absolute number of reported adverse events and deaths for Covid-19 and non-Covid vaccines”.
This is because while the Covid-19 vaccines have been given to a very large proportion of the U.S. population in 2021, other vaccines have been given to substantially fewer individuals in any given year.
MOH added that there is much higher surveillance and awareness of adverse event reporting for Covid-19 vaccines compared with other vaccines.
According to the ministry, “any member of the public may report adverse events and deaths to the VAERS system”.
This is regardless of whether it is caused by vaccines or other factors, and no proof is required that the adverse event or death was caused by the vaccine.
Furthermore, these reports are not required to be verified, often lack details, and sometimes contain errors, wrote MOH.
Adverse events in this case need not be serious, and include mild side effects such as rash, cold, or headaches.
I trust that you will see that the chart I shared in my original post to back my statement does not accurately reflect present reality.
Having spread what the government has declared to be an online falsehood, I now feel compelled to share further context.
The OpenVAERS project compiles adverse reaction reports on its website, based on publicly-available information from VAERS. On its FAQs, OpenVAERS notes that:
According to the ODPHP (Office of Disease Prevention and Health Promotion) report about VAERS from Healthy People 2020:
“The majority of VAERS reports are sent in by vaccine manufacturers (37%) and health care providers (36%). The remaining reports are obtained from state immunization programs (10%), vaccine recipients (or their parent/guardians, 7%) and other sources (10%).β
So at the time of this writing, 83% of reporters were from HCWs, Pharma and Governmentally based sources.
We also have from early April 2021 Scott McLachlan and colleagues downloaded the 2021 US VAERS Dataset. They identified health service employees as the reporter in at least 67% of the reports, while pharmaceutical employees were identified as the reporter in a further 5%. Lay people were identifiable as the reporter in only 28% of the reports. A total of 72% HCWs and pharma.

You can also find the VAERS online reporting form here. Notice the personal information required by the form, as well as the warning that knowingly filing a false VAERS report is punishable under federal law.
In John 18:38, Pilate asked, “What is truth?” To this, I say, truth is that which reflects reality.
Let us all find the truth for ourselves.
