Welcome to my new blog. I’m Cheah Kai Wai, the Writer Also Known As Benjamin Cheah. On this blog, I will write about the stories I publish under this name, lessons learned while writing, and the writing industry in general (with an emphasis on science fiction and fantasy).<\/p>\n

Unlike my main<\/a> site, this is not<\/em> an explicitly political blog. I’m reserving my main site for current affairs and political affairs. Politics will only be mentioned here in the context of the writing industry and the SFF fields.<\/p>\n

For newcomers, please note that my surname is ‘Cheah’, and ‘Kai Wai’ is my given name in Cantonese. To the Western tongue, this is best pronounced as ‘t’ZEH k’AH w’AYE’.<\/p>\n

As Cheah Kai Wai, I will be writing SFF for publication with publishers like Castalia House<\/a>. With this name, I aim to write vast, sweeping stories with large numbers of characters; stories of hope, awe and wonder; characters who strive to be the best they can be. It’s a return to the glory days of SFF, grounded in the past while striding fearlessly into the future, examining the timeless and the timely.<\/p>\n
