{"id":596,"date":"2016-03-22T08:06:58","date_gmt":"2016-03-22T08:06:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cheahkaiwai.wordpress.com\/?p=596"},"modified":"2016-03-22T08:06:58","modified_gmt":"2016-03-22T08:06:58","slug":"rabid-puppies-recommended","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/kitsuncheah.com\/?p=596","title":{"rendered":"Rabid Puppies Recommended!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Yesterday Vox Day released a <a href=\"http:\/\/voxday.blogspot.sg\/2016\/03\/rabid-puppies-2016-list.html\">list <\/a>of personal recommendations for the Hugo awards, which of course is <em>not<\/em> a call for a block vote, and recommended me\u00a0for\u00a0the Campbell Award for Best New Writer, and\u00a0Flashpoint: Titan for Best Novelette.<\/p>\n<p>I am greatly honoured to accept such praise, and am deeply humbled by the fact that there are people who believe\u00a0I am worthy of standing beside such luminaries as Stephen King and Andy Weir. Looking at the rest of the Rapid Puppies recommendations, I am fully confident that the recommendations will live up to the Rapid Puppies&#8217; mission\u00a0of making the Hugos great again.<\/p>\n<p>Further, I am\u00a0<em>especially<\/em> pleased by Vox Day&#8217;s inclusion of\u00a0<em>Space Raptor Butt Invasion<\/em>. Science fiction\u00a0is the literature of ideas, allowing radical concepts to be\u00a0explored in great detail. This story is indubitably a masterwork that skilfully portrays\u00a0interspecies\u00a0non-heterosexual\u00a0relations within a vividly-created science fictional universe, and would\u00a0surely be a shoo-in for the Hugos among certain quarters.<\/p>\n<p>Readers interested in other stories\u00a0could also check out the Sad Puppies recommendations <a href=\"http:\/\/sadpuppies4.org\/the-list\/\">list<\/a>, which is once again\u00a0<em>not<\/em> a call for a slate vote.<\/p>\n<p>Sad Puppies and Rabid Puppies have brought in more new voters and readers to the Hugo Awards in recent years than any other person or organisation in recent history.\u00a0This can only be a good thing for the awards, meant to represent the best and the brightest\u00a0in science fiction and fantasy.<\/p>\n<p>I wish every eligible nominee the best of luck, and look forward to the final results.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Yesterday Vox Day released a list of personal recommendations for the Hugo awards, which of course is not a call for a block vote, and recommended me\u00a0for\u00a0the Campbell Award for Best New Writer, and\u00a0Flashpoint: Titan for Best Novelette.
